In 2016, my beloved father, Mr. Idongesit James, suffered a severe stroke that left the entire left side of his body paralyzed. For the next 8 years, we tried everything, physiotherapy sessions at the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, medications from top specialists in Port Harcourt, and even herbal remedies from local healers. But nothing worked. He couldn’t walk. He couldn’t even lift his left hand. He was confined to a wheelchair, for 8 long years.

As a family, we adjusted. We bought ramps, we bathed and fed him, but deep down, we knew he had lost his confidence… and we were losing hope.
